Niko in Aluksne already more than 3 months

Hello. I’m Niko from Georgia, ESC volunteer in Latvia (Aluksne). I’m here already 3 months. Time has gone too fast. I am gaining many new experiences here. I work 5 days in a week, every day is different and full of activities. Some days I’m helping my colleagues in their activities, contributing .

I have my activities too. For example every Thursday is “free time with Niko”. Every week is different Thursday. Me and children and youngsters are making some crafts or watching movies or learning new skills. For example making crafts from clay, also candles for Ukraine, origami, Gingerbreads for Christmas, watching some movies, also some sport activities and drawing, also quizzes.  I am leading English club, where some children and youngsters are coming and we talk in English, play some card games and word games. Sometimes I contribute to organize big events too and helping, they are mostly on Friday’s evening.

I’m planning to teach children and youngsters Georgian language, because some of them really want it.  I also have some initiatives about more activities and lectures for them. I already have a huge experiences with my colleagues and children. This project really needs everyone to change their life and make new experiences, like me.

For clarity: Niko is a volunteer in Aluksne Children and youth center through European Solidarity Corps project “Discover Yourself in Aluksne”.
